North York Moors Historical Railway Trust (NYMHRT) has been successful in securing an agreement with the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to move forward to a grant application stage, which if successful, will lead to a £9.2 million investment programme, of which nearly half will be funded by the HLF.

Under the brand “Yorkshire’s Magnificent Journey” a Project Director is required to lead and coordinate the areas that will form the Round 2 application and then subsequently ensure that the project is delivered and embedded into the NYMR organisation. It is envisaged that this role will be required for a first phase commencing at the end of January 2018 which will last for a period of 5 months, which may be extended by up to a further period of 3 months. The second phase will commence in January 2019 for an expected period of 3 years.

Due to the nature of this role it is envisaged that it could be undertaken on a consultancy or self-employed basis under terms agreed within a Service Agreement.

Therefore, expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified persons, who would be available, on a part time basis, during the periods stated. Those persons expressing an interest must be able to demonstrate that they have the experience of shaping and delivering, in partnership with the HLF, major, >£2m, funded heritage projects as well as managing complex projects involving diverse delivery teams. The terms of engagement, with the level of fees, will be agreed with the NYMHRT Executive Group.
