In September 2016 the North Yorkshire Moors Railway launched a live webcam from Grosmont Station, enabling rail enthusiasts from all over the world to watch the award-winning visitor attraction. With over 267,000 unique views (1st September to 31st March 2017) the webcam was well received and a huge success. In sponsorship with C>Ways we are pleased to announce that this camera has now been upgraded (donated free of charge) with a new high definition camera with audio, enabling the ambient sounds of the locomotives to be heard across the world. Annually the railway carries over 350,000 passengers, many of which know it as an award-winning visitor attraction, but not as a not for profit charity. The North York Moors Historical Railway Trust is run as part of the local community, with the day to day operation carried out by volunteers with a wealth of railway and business experience. Every visitor that travels on the railway helps to preserve its heritage locomotives, coaches and infrastructure making it one of the world's greatest railway experiences.
